We are thrilled to announce the inaugural summer of our “Counselor-In-Training” Program that will be launched in summer 2012! The CIT summer program for entering 12th graders is intended to create a transitional bridge from camper to staff member. For 6 weeks participants in this program will receive training to develop critical leadership skills, intensive sports training, and apprenticeship experience with our renowned head coaching staff.
Together, the inaugural cohort of CIT’s will share in the experience of significantly impacting our camp’s culture for many years to come. Each CIT will serve as a role model, building relationships with our younger campers during a rotation of dorm assignments throughout the summer. They will assist in planning and executing camp-wide programs such as Maccabiah, end of session banquets, Shabbat t’filot and Havdallah. Additionally CIT’s will participate in a Tikkun Olam project to benefit the community outside of camp.
As a relatively young camp, the integration of this program is so critical to the growth and longevity of our camp community. It is so inspiring for us to picture the first cohort of 6 Points campers becoming staff members. We can just imagine our future staff members taking the lessons they learned at 6 Points and passing them on L’dor Vdor to the next generation of Jewish athletes.
