Shabbat Shalom

It’s hard to believe we’ve already said lehitraot (so long) to our Session 1 athletes, had a fantastic intersession program and greeted our Session 2 athletes with shalom alechem (welcome).  The Ruach (spirit) around here never stops.

Session 1 ended with a beautiful firefly ceremony at our lake and is best summed up by our camper Naomi Jaffe who said “Along with the people, this camp teaches values that I will carry with me my entire life. The bracelets that I and all of you now carry on your arms, not only serve as a reward for exemplifying that particular value but as a constant reminder to continue to use that value in our everyday lives. This camp has not only made me a better athlete, but it’s made me a better person as well.”

Intersession was a respite from all-day training with off-campus activities that included the movies, bowling, go carting, and a minor league baseball game.  The tired athletes got much deserved down time to recharge for session 2.  Intersession culminated with a memorable gathering around our campfire.

Session 2 has started off with huge energy, enthusiasm and spirit.  Our athletes and their families were welcomed to campus with singing of avenu shalom alechem, receiving a new camp t-shirt and a warm greeting to old and new friends alike.  We have jumped right in to sports, sports, sports and more sports which makes everyone here happy, sweaty, tired, exhilarated and all around feeling like a Jewish Athlete.  Don’t forget to follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, as well as check your CampInTouch for daily pictures.

Shabbat Shalom,
Alan
