Now We are Ready
Hard to believe but the Biennial opens today and we are ready to go! Yesterday registration opened and went very smoothly. Most of the pre-Biennial programs wrapped up and there were several Union Committee meetings. I visited the Maintenance of Membership Committee, Resolutions, and Camp Committees to thank them for their hard work to make the Biennial a success. I also visited with the new Union Trustees to welcome them to the Union Board and encourage them to really dig in and have a great Biennial.
The local arrangements volunteers are hard at work dispensing invaluable advice to registrants who have lots of questions! The computers for you to use to check email (for free!) are set up, tested and ready for use. The URJ Press bookstore is just about fully stocked and ready for its Wednesday noon opening. The exhibition hall is almost all set up and the vendors were busy today stocking their shelves! The gala opening of the Exhibition Hall is Wednesday at 5 and I hope to see as many of you there as possible! The opening plenary session is tomorrow night and we are looking forward to welcoming you with a great Southern California welcome.
Don't forget that the first series of Biennial workshops start Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. - the lineup is terrific and it is so great to have such a wealth of choices!
