The Torah In Haiku: Vayak’heil / P’kudei

Mishkan building fund
Moses asks, the people give
More than is needed

Centuries later
Many synagogues struggle
To fill budget holes

 
 
 

The picture is of a street-side tzedakah box I saw in Jerusalem. I believe it reads “Charity to support (to strengthen) the synagogue”. Anyone whose Hebrew skills are better than mine should feel free to let me know if that’s not correct.
