The arts programming here at Camp Coleman is something truly remarkable. Grace Sherman, our Arts Director, has spent 19 summers at Coleman, and Lauren Zeichner, our Director of Specialties, is spending her 17th summer at Coleman; together along with the rest of the arts staff they help facilitate a curriculum that is unique. And it helps that we have such talented campers to begin with! See for yourself all of the amazing things that have happened this summer.
A Note from Bobby and Opening Day Video
on July 13, 2011
2nd session is off to an amazing start. At camp, because so much is happening, it frequently feels that a day is like a week. In fact, one of the younger campers approached me with a smile yesterday and asked if we have already been here for a week.
Gilad Shalit Follow-Up
on July 12, 2011
On June 25th, Camp Coleman campers and staff staged a solidarity march to show support for Gilad Shalit on the fifth anniversary of his captivity. Our First Session videographer, David Chernak, captured footage of the march and included it at the beginning of last week’s Weekly Show. David is now in Israel working with the NFTY in Israel campers where he was able to show the video of the march to Gilad’s parents and capture this clip of them watching the support of over 600 Colemanites.
Spongebob SquareMAC
on July 8, 2011
Oh no! Evil Plankton stole the Chicken Patty formula! Now it’s only up to Camp Coleman campers to bring it back to the camp’s devoted cooks, Nellie and Yaakov. The only question was: would it be the Blue Team or the Red Team to catch the vicious Plankton and get the formula?
Camp Coleman Stages Solidarity March for Gilad Shalit
on July 1, 2011
On June 25th, everyone at Camp Coleman came together to show our support for Gilad Shalit on the fifth anniversary of his abduction. Our very own Journalism Specialist who is part of our Mishlachat (Israeli Delegation) wrote a piece about the events.

Storah Telling
on June 26, 2011
In case you didn’t get a run-down of last week’s Torah portion, Korach (or even if you did), check out our Cornerstone Fellows’ clever Storah Telling skit and Ke$ha-inspired song.
Weekly Show Week 2
on
So much has happened this week at Camp! But, instead of telling you about it, let our talented campers show you in the second installment of the 2011 Camp Coleman Weekly Show.
Torn Paper T’filah
on June 24, 2011
With Shabbat approaching, we wanted to share with you a photo montage of one of the T’filah (prayer) options from last week. Here at Camp Coleman our campers receive a variety of prayer experiences, and in our Keshet T’filah rotations they get to explore their own ways of participating in Jewish prayer.
All-Camp Mitzvah Project
on June 20, 2011
This summer Coleman campers packed one extra item to bring to camp. The extra item didn’t take up much room in each individual camper’s luggage. Yet, when added to all the items that other campers and staff brought this summer a huge collection began to amass in the chadar ohel – the dining hall. Bins overflowed as donations poured in from all of our units and staff.
