“Montreal is the best trip I’ve ever gone on. As soon as you reach the bridge to bring you into the city, a wave of excitement comes over you as you realize your new home for the next three days. Throughout the journey, you discover things about yourself and your friends that you never could have imagined. No matter what you do, whether it’s ice skating, laser tag, an amusement park, jet boating, or shopping, you’ll have more fun than you’ve ever had in your life. In addition to having fun, you’ll also get to learn loads of information about you, your friends, and your Jewish history. Every night you will have deep and sometimes very funny conversations with your roommates, and every day you will be immersed in Montreal’s highly friendly and surprisingly non-American culture. One day you visit an incredibly informational and well done Holocaust museum that I think is highly comparable to Yad V’Shem in Israel. The trip finishes up with a true test of endurance as the unit takes a tour of the Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream Factory, which ends with the opportunity for you and at least seven of your best friends taking on THE VERMONSTER (or in other words, a mountain of ice cream). The whole trip is an experience not worth missing for the world.” -Toby Jaroslaw

“Montreal was an experience of a lifetime. Even though I was sick on and off, the sights were incredible. I tried new foods I’ve always wanted to try: beaver tails and poutine, and of course, the Vermonster! I’ve experience new things like jet boating on the St. Lawrence River without wearing a poncho, as well as walking on Rue St. Catherine and Church Street in Vermont. I ran into my sister while guiding my bunk around Burlington which was awesome, but most importantly, the Canadian hospitality was never ending. Whether I felt good or sick, everybody constantly asked me if I was okay. That’s what Montreal has to offer: great food, lovely people, and a fantastic time!! C’est tre’s bon!” -Asher Berson-Gold
“Montreal was a fantastic trip, not just because of the crazy rides at La Ronde or exhilarating jet boating. It wasn’t just hearing the story of a Holocaust survivor or the delicious food either. All of these things made the trip even better than it would have been otherwise, but one of the best parts was how we came together as a unit. Before I exclusively spent my time with the friends I had made in years before, but during the trip, I talked to people I had never hung out with before, and went through all of Montreal with them. Now, we may be back on US soil, but the unity of Olim still remains.”-Natalie Skigen

“After fourteen trip days throughout my camp experience, the Olim Montreal trip was by far the best: providing a perfect balance between free time, meaningful experiences, and fun activities. Olim was given the opportunity to listen to the Holocaust survivors speak at the Montreal Holocaust Museum, which was incredibly special considering how powerful the speakers’ words were. On the other hand, we had tons of fun jet boating, riding attractions at La Ronde Amusement Park, and touring St. Catherine’s Street and Old Montreal. Overall, the trip was so much fun and proved to be very memorable.” -Sam Barnett
