Our Maccabiah games continued today, more exciting than the day before! We started the morning with team meetings to sign up for the day’s sports activities as well as cheering to pump up each team. After the teams dispersed, the campers had an amazing day of playing sports, practicing for their drama performances, dancing to the music, and creating beautiful art projects. Every camper had so many activities they could be a part of, it was great they could have such freedom to choose how they could help out their team. Whether cheering on the sidelines or being part of a soccer game, each camper has a part in Maccabiah to put their team on top.
Today was a big day for the members of the drama skits, both thematic and comedy-they were performing tonight in front of all of camp, including the judges. Drama worked hard for a lot of the day, but still had the opportunity to be part of the fun and craziness of Maccabiah. We also had the opportunity to learn our team’s comedy song that was extremely well written by our song specialists. These comedy songs consist of multiple little songs sung in popular tunes we all know and love. The campers and staff had time to learn their songs and were excited to present it to the camp during the evening.
The rest of the day consisted of more games and sports, such as an amazing triatholon, and a huge Chaverim/Tzofim soccer game that ended in an intense shoot out! Everyone had an awesome day, but they were even more excited for the evening’s events.
After dinner and team t’fillah, each team lined up to enter the Beit Am. With pride and confidence, red, green, blue, and gold all showed the judges that they were present and ready to show off their talents. Our lovely head song leader, Spike, was the MC for the night, where he told many jokes and kept the crowd entertained. The night started with the thematic skits, teaching all of camp lessons about spirituality, strength, friendship and leadership-the skits were even in rhyme, going along with this year’s Maccabiah theme of Dr. Seuss! The comedy skits came next, making camp laugh and cheer for their friends that poked fun about this year at camp. Mike Peaceman, Louis, Deb Chen, Danny O’Dell and more were mentioned throughout these skits to show our love and appreciation for what they bring to camp! The comedy songs came last, and wow, everyone was extremely impressed with the songs. We all loved listening to the unique lyrics and clever tunes, it really displayed the talent Eisner campers and staff have! The night ended with something extremely special. Our very own teva director/the best person ever, Vlad, serenaded camp with an opera version of the popular hit “Call Me Maybe”, after which he received a standing ovation.
The entire day was filled with hard work, laughs, and fun. We cannot wait for tomorrow, our last day of Maccabiah. Tomorrow will be a jam-packed, but exciting day for all. We cannot wait to be a part of it, we will keep you updated!
