Hello Camp George,
Last year, we wrote to introduce you to our brand NEW for 2012 Community Wide Internship Program. The internship program, was designed to give our senior staff members the best of both worlds: a summer at camp AND an internship! In our first year, we partnered with Holy Blossom Temple in Toronto, The Collective (a marketing and design firm and the creative mind behind Camp George’s own marketing materials), One Family Fund (an international organization that helps families affected by terrorism in Israel) and the Jewish National Fund.
After a successful pilot year, we are thrilled to be launching our internship initiative again for the spring season of 2013. This year we are proud to be partnering with Holy Blossom Temple, Jewish National Fund Canada, Shalom Street Museum (Detroit), and the Rouge Valley Health System. Our summer staff fulfilling these internships include:
Holy Blossom – Joe Leszner, Senior Counselor
Jewish National Fund Canada – Leor Mann, Athletics Director
Shalom Street Museum – Hannah Iwrey, Head of A&C
Rouge Valley Health System – Michael Marks, Assistant CIT Unit Head
We cannot thank these organizations enough for trying this pilot program with us, for sponsoring our interns, and for allowing us to offer expanded professional experience to our staff members. We wholeheartedly want to thank our community for coming together to once again allow our staff to feel success: we believe that what they learn “on the job” will be brought up to camp and passed on through their work at Camp George.
Stay tuned for updates on our interns and their experiences in May! We can’t wait to hear about their accomplishments.
