Samantha Berezowsky is the Marketing and Development Assistant for the 2013 Summer. She is a long time camper and staff member as well.
The idea of writing about me is something more than appealing to me but I feel like this blog is for a higher purpose. Throughout the summer, camp will stay consistent with social media and the blog; along with other things to inform parents about the day to day camp life. What people don’t know, is who the person is running everything behind the scenes.
My name is Samantha (Sam) Berezowsky and I first came to came to camp in 2002. I was in Kohanim 2 and I came to camp because all of my friends from home were already coming here for years and absolutely loved it. It was a very interesting first summer and I not only made a ton of friends, but I was incredibly homesick. I wasn’t even sure if I wanted to come back the next year but as the year went on I couldn’t resist. I ended up coming for four years as a camper and then went to Israel on Garin Greene in 2006.
I always knew I wanted to be on staff but things got in the way so I wasn’t able to come back to work on staff until 2010. This is now my fourth year on staff with my first three being a counselor. This year I am getting the opportunity do what I love, which is communications.
I am in school getting a degree in Integrated Communications with a minor in English. I am supposed to be graduating in December and while I am not entirely sure of my future path, I am sure that getting to do what I want to do in life for camp is the best situation I could have ever dreamt of. Camp has done much more for me than I could ever do for it, but I don’t mind trying to fill the gap.
What you can expect from me during this summer is blogs, tweets, Facebook posts, and numerous vimeos to show what we have been doing. Our plan is to blog twice a week with tweets and Facebook posts every day. Our vimeos will be periodic but we will share them on every avenue we have.
I am also in charge of making sure all the Bunk1 photos get online consistently each day as well as making sure that every kid is getting photographed. I look forward to reaching out to all of you through all these different ways this summer.
If you feel like these goals are not being met, or have any ideas for blogs or pictures that should be posted, please feel free to contact me at email@example.com.
