By Richard Keitel
Shalom everybody! I wanted to reintroduce myself. My name is Richard Keitel and I am very excited to return to GUCI to be this summer’s project director. Let me tell you a little something about me: I am a Professor of Theatre at Point Park University in Pittsburgh, one of the top Musical Theatre, Dance, and Acting conservatories in the United States. I am also a professional actor, a member of Actors Equity, and a professional director who is currently working on a production of The Great Gatsby. My favorite productions, however, are my two sons Jordan and Daniel who have been going to GUCI for a decade. You may recognize them, they are the two six foot-tall redheads at Camp!
The Keitel Family at GUCI!
A few years ago I had the priviledge to direct two wonderful productions at GUCI, Aladdin and Mulan. I was so impressed with all of the talent and dedication of the Anaf campers and counselors. This summer, we are cooking up two more amazing musicals to dazzle everybody at Camp. We are going to do….SHHHH! It’s a secret! You will find out when we get to Camp! The first rule of Project is… “Don’t talk about Project!” Other goals for this summer include sharing theatre games and skills, working hard, and having a fun time with everybody working together collaboratively to put on a show that is one of the highlights of the summer in GUCI!
