We All Need Some Tikkun

  Today Shoresh travelled all over camp to learn about Tikkun, which means to repair. They learned about how it is important to repair their community and themselves! Shoresh started at the sports field and were asked to make a choice when given a scenario, like a choose your own adventure shiur. They were first asked to choose between going to help at a homeless shelter or staying home to rest, when they had the flu. They were also given situations about family and friends. Shabbat is in The Air

Today is the first Shabbat of Kallah Aleph. What makes today so special for campers is that the daily schedule is different so they can prepare for Shabbat. Garin, Shoresh and Gezah participated in Shabbat prep instead of their regular Olami. They learned new Rikudei Am (Israeli Dance), the song Lo Yareiu, and the importance and significance of the Shabbat Walk. Anaf Steals the Show

Being together every day has brought them together as one unit, enabling them to break out of their cabin groups and meet new people and make new friends, and I’ve loved having the opportunity to watch that happen. I couldn’t wait to see them perform and to see the excitement and pride on their faces as they cheered after the finale.
