Keeping in Touch During the Summer

We know that every day at Camp Harlam will be full of new things, excitement, challenge, fun and the building of relationships that can last for a lifetime. Your children will know this too, even if they are coming to camp for the first time in 2013. But how will YOU know what REALLY HAPPENS at camp this summer?

While nothing is more important than our camp’s care of the campers, our ability to keep families informed is especially critical. In the last couple of seasons, we have made a great effort to improve our resources and efficiency with respect to Camper Care and parent/guardian communication, health services and staff responsiveness, the handling of telephone calls and email, better “snail mail” and package systems, an enhanced Bunk1 service and much, much more. There is still a great deal of room for improvement, and we are excited this summer to take another step forward (with your help) by offering the following key means of communication with YOU:

Bunk1.com: This service allows you to view thousands of photo images taken by (and uploaded by) our camp staff throughout the summer. Using a special username and password, you can also send and receive e-mail messages with your child. For more information on how to access this service click here for more Bunk1 info.

Follow us on Facebook: Join one of the largest camp Facebook communities in the country by clicking here to “like” Camp Harlam. Throughout the summer, we will upload special photos, blog posts, contests and other important information.

Follow us on Twitter: This summer we will be “tweeting” daily (for more info on Twitter and how it works, visit www.Twitter.com), including unit (age group) updates at least once per day. Click here to follow Camp Harlam on Twitter and you will be able to track the action traffic of posts, pictures and videos with various “tweets”.

Camp Harlam Blog: Throughout the summer, we will be using this section of our Home Page and website to share more extensive information about what’s going on at Camp (click here for our blog). On Monday, you may see a camper-written blog. On Thursday, a general summary of what’s going on at Camp. On Sunday, Unit Heads will give a brief update on activities in their age groups. And every Friday, Aaron Selkow (camp’s Director) will be posting a special Shabbat blog.

Camp Videos: You want to actually “see” what’s new at camp? Not to worry! Each week, we will be occasionally broadcasting videos created by campers and staff, along with a weekly highlight video and slideshow. To access these videos, simply follow the Summer Central link to the video section, or click here for the Videos Page.
