As Thanksgiving approaches, we prepare to spend time with our families and reflect on the things we appreciate in our lives. I personally am grateful for having had the opportunity for the past 5 summers to be a part of the Mitzvah Corps program at Kutz.

Klutz: Kutz Camp Glee Club
Yeah, we went there. The three-week Kutz Glee Minor arranged, recorded, and choreographed song to be used in a “Klutz” episode they wrote, acted in and filmed. The video, aside from showcasing our many talents at Kutz, also touches upon liberal Jewish values as the Klutz Club has issue with the Mechitza at the Kotel.
Marcus Kreitzer and Jamie Rices’ Yellow Team Maccabiah Video Blog
Kutz’ Maccabiah was a rousing success. So much so, that two of our participants, Marcus Kreitzer (NFTY-GER) and Jamie Rice (NFTY-STR) decided to video blog the entire experience.

Dan Nichols Rocks Kutz with His New Song, Redemption
For the past two decades Dan Nichols has been changing the tune of Jewish music, and for the past 11 years he has been visiting Kutz calling our community home.
This video is of a new song, Redemption, from a concert he put on at Kutz. It features participants in the Songleading Major, which he met with over the course of three days to teach and learn from.
Musical Kutz – Talent Show
Kutz is such a musical environment. Everyone loves to sing, write songs, and play their hearts out with the instruments that speak to them. Kutz is a place where you meet people and talk about your experiences with them and sometimes they mesh together.
Retro Dance Exercise Routines with Daniel Landesberg
Kutz is a place for learning, exploration, and of course tons of fun. This year one of the many fun activity options at camp is the week long minor called “Retro Exercise Routines”.
Havdalah
During the week participants are extremely busy, actively engaged in diverse programs from early in the morning until late at night.
On Shabbat, we take time to rest.
Havdalah marks the conclusion of Shabbat. It is the final calm before we transition back into our active week.
Alan Goodis Rocks the House
The Kutz community had the privilege of being joined by Alan Goodis, a forefront Jewish songwriter and performer. While with the Kutz community, Alan Goodis performed a concert of original tunes and inspiring covers. Alan also taught/learned with the Songleading Major and helped lead all-camp t’filah.
Welcome Home
Check out this video from an incredibly exciting first day at Kutz! We welcomed 180 new participants to our approximately 85 acres, signed up for our minors, moved into our cabins, and got our first taste of the Culinary Revolution with Pacific Rim night at dinner!
