Welcome to Kutz. Welcome Home.

By Elan Kramer, Communications Manager

Shalom! My name is Elan, and I am thrilled to serve as the Communications Manager for the Kutz Camp this summer.

Throughout the summer, Kutz will stay consistent with social media and the blog; along with other things to inform parents about the life and times of all things Kutz-related. What people don’t know is whom the person is running everything behind the scenes.

My name is Elan Kramer, and I first came to Kutz during the summer of 2008 at the suggestion of my synagogue’s assistant rabbi. At the time, I was 13 years old and going into my freshman year of high school. I had absolutely no idea what to expect. Kutz changed my life in more ways than imaginable. Not only did I learn about myself and my Jewish identity, but I felt prepared and confident in beginning my high school journey. I left Kutz with an abundance of new leadership techniques, lasting friendships, and unforgettable memories. Kutz inspired me to actively engage in NFTY and Jewish youth leadership. I became president of my temple youth group and went on NFTY-EIE, a semester abroad program in Israel. I returned to Kutz in the summer of 2011, as I was going into my senior year of high school. The experience I had that summer helped prepare me for life as a Jewish teenager, ready to begin the journey of college.

I always knew that I wanted to return to Kutz as a staff member. I am so glad that now I have the opportunity to give back to the community that has given me so much.

As a NFTY and Kutz Alum, I know firsthand how exciting and unique the Kutz experience is. It is my job to ensure that YOU are in the know about anything and everything going on at NFTY’s summer home. This site will serve as an incredible resource, and I hope you’ll check back often for updates on what is sure to be an amazing summer at the Kutz Camp!

Once camp is in session, content will be updated daily. From pictures and videos to participant perspectives and posts from our visiting faculty, this site is the place to get in on all the action!

If you have any questions or ideas for blogs or pictures that should be posted, please feel free to contact me at elankramer@gmail.com.
