A mere 3 days after I returned home from the Netzer Olami Veida in Jerusalem, I again packed my bags to travel to Atlanta for NFTY-SAR’s Winter Regionals! After my amazing experiences with NFTY-GER at their New Member Kallah this past October, I entered Winter Regionals extremely excited to meet new NFTYites, see URJ Kutz Camp alumni, and experience NFTY in a new community.

From January 6-12, representatives from 11 countries descended upon Jerusalem to engage in thoughtful sharing, learning, and collaboration as a part of the Netzer Olami Veida. Although we all came from different Jewish backgrounds and lifestyles, we all united as leaders in Netzer Olami to share and appreciate these differences and discover common ground as the Progressive Jewish youth of the world.

Good morning. Thank you to Steve Sacks, Rabbi Jacobs and all of you for inviting me to speak this morning. It is my honor to address the board on behalf of NFTY. My name is Evan Traylor; I am currently a freshman at the University of Kansas, studying Political Science and Jewish Studies, and I am honored to be serving as the President of NFTY for the 2012-2013 year.
