The last Biennial I attended was in 2007 in San Diego. I did not know what to expect of Biennial and could not imagine just what thousands of Reform Jews looked like.

Earlier today, the Biennial held the Campaign for Youth Engagement forum and we learned about the incredible commitment the Reform Movement is making to young people everywhere.

Greetings from National Harbor, Maryland! NFTY is here in force at the Gaylord Hotel, where this afternoon over 220 teens are arriving for the NFTY Leaders Assembly at the 2011 URJ Biennial.

It’s pretty incredible, and incredibly strange to see teens gathered, voluntarily, in a setting more formal than most adults ever participate in. How many teens do you know who choose to spend a Sunday morning following Robert’s Rules of Order rather than sleeping in?
