NFTY-PAR: As Jews We Hold On To Hope

Hope can get complicated in our modern world. What are we supposed to hope for? Hope for peace in the Middle East? Hope to get an A on our math test? Hope that this D’var is over soon? I can’t answer those questions for you. We all hope for different things. What I do hope is that we can all strive to follow the Golden Rule “do not unto others as you would have them do unto you”. No matter what types of people we encounter, it is our purpose as Jews to hold onto hope for a better world and mutual understanding among all people.

NFTY-RCVP: A Reflection and a Thank-You to NFTY Northeast

The event was wonderful. The board did a great job, I loved being able to meet the participants, whether it was one new songleader from a recently disengaged youth group, AISH, the two boys from Concord, NH, or the well-known Presidents of larger TYGs. NFTY Goes to Netzer Veida: MLK Day at Har Hertzl

NFTY Goes to Netzer Veida: MLK Day at Har Hertzl

As the sun was dawning on Martin Luther King Jr. day in the United States, the Netzer Veida delegates were engaged in a tour of Mount Herzl and the Herzl Museum in Jerusalem. During one of the presentations, we were asked for one name of some leader who we believed to be inspirational. As we went around and shared our responses, I, as well as another delegate from London, mentioned MLK. Interestingly enough, the very next section of the discussion moved on to Herzl’s views on Israel, with the famous words “If you will it, it is no dream.” This […]
