NFTY-SAVP: Thank You NFTY-SAR

First and foremost, thank you for showing me some true southern hospitality. I had a truly special weekend attending your Fall Kallah at Congregation Dor Tamid in Duluth, Georgia. Not only did I have the honor of going to the NFTY event, I had the amazing opportunity to learn and visit the school that Camp Jenny partners with.

NFTY-RCVP: A Reflection and a Thank-You to NFTY Northeast

The event was wonderful. The board did a great job, I loved being able to meet the participants, whether it was one new songleader from a recently disengaged youth group, AISH, the two boys from Concord, NH, or the well-known Presidents of larger TYGs. NFTY Northeast’s LTI was a few hours packed with enough kavannah, neshama, and ahava to last months.

NFTY-STR: Ice Cubes and Rocks

This past Wednesday, September 3, SchZFTY (Congregation Schaarai Zedek’s temple youth group) hosted their first open house, a forum for our teens to simply hang out and get to know one another on a much more personal level. As decided by our youth advisor, Lindsey Morgan, and myself, at each open house of the 2014-2015 year, SchZFTYites will have the unique opportunity to participate in a 30 to 45 minute program addressing a social action theme correlating to either NFTY-STR SAVP (Social Action Vice President) Noah Baker’s Monthly Mitzvah Theme, or a congregation-wide tzedakah theme. As SchZFTY’s SAVP, one of my responsibilities is to collaborate with Lindsey and our programming team to write and conduct these programs.

NFTY-PAR: United Donations

NFTY brings thousands of Jewish teenagers from across the country together. People might ask the significance of NFTY and one might answer, “to form friendships” while another might say, “to learn about Judaism.” It took me a while to realize what made NFTY special to me as an individual.
