I cannot wait to see this campus filled with the smiling faces and laughter of our Mitzvah Corps members in just a few short days. We have so many great activities planned and we can’t wait to share them with you!

The UMC Journey
I’m so excited to go through this journey with 41 other individuals who are all waiting to go through the same program that helped me grow so much as a person.
MCS Opening Day!
Tomorrow is going to be our full first day, as we head to Green Roots NOLA to learn about and build sustainable garden for low-income families. I can’t wait for the next amazing two weeks!
‘Twas the night before NOLA…

Greetings from the beautiful Rutgers University campus in New Brunswick, New Jersey! I’m writing to you from the air-conditioned basement of Wessels Hall, where I, along with the UMC Site Director Shawn Fogel, Jewish Educator Kelly Chenin, and fellow Student Life Coordinator Andrew Arens, will be spending the next 6.5 weeks. We moved in yesterday morning (although it already feels like weeks ago!) and are eagerly awaiting the arrival of our 38 (!) participants!
Here we come, Costa Rica!
Ticos (the slang word for Costa Ricans) are some of the warmest, most loving people I’ve ever met and I know we’ll be welcomed by all our hosts with open arms. Get ready to eat gallo pinto for breakfast, get up close and personal with the Jewish population of CR, and learn all about the wonders of the most beautiful country in the world!
