Want a reason to be optimistic as we head into the New Year?
Every year, the San Francisco-based Helen Diller Family
Foundation honors five Jewish teens for their exceptional community service and
outstanding leadership in helping to repair the world. The recipients of
the Diller Teen Tikkun Olam Awards are each given
$36,000 to use towards their college education or to further implement their
vision of making the world a better place.
This year's recipients focus their work on cancer research,
Darfur, global warming, abusive relationships and impoverished children around
the world.
What a wonderful program! What powerful role models! If the
future of our community, and our world, is in the hands of these remarkable
teens, it is in good hands indeed.
