Al Gore to Headline the Consultation on Conscience

Vice President Al Gore will be giving the Consultation on
Conscience‘s opening keynote address on May 1. Since leaving office, Vice
President Gore has been the planet’s leading activist on sustainability,
winning a Nobel Prize for his work on climate change and an Academy Award for
his documentary An Inconvenient Truth. The Consultation’s opening
keynote is held at Washington Hebrew Congregation, one our Movement’s largest
synagogues.

The Consultation on Conscience continues on Monday and Tuesday with other top-notch speakers (like Sister Helen Prejean, author of Dead Man Walking and NAACP President Ben Jealous) and presentations. We are still putting together this exciting program, but to get a sense of whom else you will hear from by checking out the schedule from 2009.

This year’s Consultation will celebrate the Religious Action Center’s 50th Anniversary. With a Gala event on Monday evening and special programming throughout the Consultation, we will honor the Reform Movement’s 50 years of leadership in pursuit of social justice and look toward our future.
