WRJ at 6 Points Sports Academy

Last weekend, July 20 and 21st approximately 30 members from Women of Reform Judaism (WRJ) Mid Atlantic and Southeast districts came to Six Points Sports Academy to celebrate Shabbat.

What an extraordinary experience for us.  6 Points Sports Academy provides young Jewish athletes with an incredible venue to hone their sport skills at the same time as they grew in their Jewish values and sense of belonging.  The facility, counselors, coaches and staff manage to give the campers an amazing experience in 12 days.  They come together as strangers and leave as lifelong friends.

We joined campers and staff for Shabbat dinner as well as services Friday night and Sat. Morning.  The music, provided by their song leaders and serivce leaders was added to this weekend with Sheldon Lowe as a visitng song leader.  The ruach at the services, and meals made it very clear that Shabbat at 6 Points was joyous, meaningful and everyone participated.  The camper wrote there own prayers to add to the text that they were reading.

What an amazing staff to create this community in 12 days.
