Rabbi David Saperstein is director emeritus of the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism and Senior Advisor for Policy and Strategy to the Union for Reform Judaism, having served as the RAC's director and counsel for 40 years. He was selected by Newsweek magazine in 2009 as the most influential rabbi in the country and described in a Washington Post profile as the "quintessential religious lobbyist on Capitol Hill.” He is the former U.S. Ambassador-at-Large for International Religious Freedom.
