Eva needed to socially transition to live full-time as a girl. Our hope is that more and more people will join together to expand the network of supportive communities until transgender people are no longer shunned by society.
Racial Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion
This training will provide foundational information about the history of Pride and how to be inclusive of the LGBTQ+ community by addressing homophobia, transphobia, and heteronormativity. This training will apply an intersectional lens to Pride, as well as share how to incorporate critical components of racial equity, diversity, and inclusion within our congregations and communities.
This affinity space training will provide information about race-based affinity spaces and how they can be powerful tools against fighting oppression, and how to go about starting them in your community.
In the days and weeks ahead, much will be written about the Pew Research Center’s "Jewish Americans in 2020." Having just received the full study today, we are still absorbing its findings. The Pew data is likely to provide a wealth of information that can be a useful resource for understanding many aspects of our community
Being Black in America is its own journey within the journey of just being human, and living, and discovering who you really are on a soul level. Then there’s being Black and Jewish. And then there’s being Black, Jewish, married to a white Jew, and having bi-ethnic Jewish kids. It’s another journey, not an easy one at times, and instead of getting easier as I get older, we seem to be facing more challenges.
